St. Charles, Virginia

As the archival video here shows, the community board in St. Charles was well on its way to a permanent clinic by the time of their second health fair in 1974.  Upon completion of his internship at Vanderbilt, Art Van Zee became first full time physician at the clinic, in 1976. He never left.

The second video describes the clinic almost forty years later.  A 12-clinic consortium of community run clinics, the Stone Mountain Clinic System, serves patients throughout southwestern Virginia coal mining region.  They provide nationally recognized management of Black Lung disease and pioneering programs for addiction management in rural communities.
