The Student Health Coalition:

The Archive Project

The Student Health Coalition Archive Project is a partnership between members of the Student Health Coalition community, the Southern Historical Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Eskind Biomedical Library at Vanderbilt University. The partnership's goal is to build a community-driven archive of historical documents, photographs, audio recordings, artifacts, and other treasures that will encourage the study of the Coalition’s public health and community organizing work throughout the region.

Hardcopy documents like old reports, photographs, news clippings and private letters are split between the well-tended archives at UNC's Southern Historical Collection and Vanderbilt's Eskind Biomedical Library.  CLICK HERE to see what's already in our archives.

At the heart of the matter, however, is this interactive website archive, innovative and we hope inviting.

The Archive is designed to take advantage of 21st century technologies even as we aim to catalogue stories from the 20th century. The web-based archive allows us to remain fluid over time, to grow and shift the narrative based on interaction with its viewers.  It allows us to provoke and promote an exchange of memories, ideas, images, and documents.

Look for buttons throughout the site, waiting for you to click, and to share.
